Coach Sonsini has been an educator for 22 years and brings a wealth of coaching experience to the field. He is entering his fourth season at Greenfield-Central High School, where he has served as Linebackers Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, and Offensive Coordinator.

Prior to joining Greenfield-Central, Coach Sonsini spent nine years as an assistant football coach at Richmond High School before serving as Head Football Coach from 2019 to 2021.

In 2011, Coach Sonsini took over as Head Football Coach at National Trail High School. At the time, the program had only four winning seasons since its inception in 1968, had never made the playoffs, and had posted a 2-59 record over the previous six seasons, including a 22-game losing streak. Under his leadership, the program experienced a dramatic turnaround. In 2012, National Trail recorded its first winning season in 15 years with a 6-4 record, earning Coach Sonsini Palladium-Item Coach of the Year honors. In 2013, the team finished 8-3 and earned the first playoff appearance in school history.

Following the 2014 season, Coach Sonsini stepped away from head coaching to focus on his young family while remaining active in the sport. He served as Co-Offensive Coordinator at Earlham College for two seasons and later continued supporting the program as a volunteer assistant.

Coach Sonsini holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Franklin College, where he was a dual-sport athlete in football and baseball; a Master of Arts in Education from Earlham College; and a Building Administration License from Oakland City University.

Coach Sonsini and his wife, Dawn, are the proud parents of three daughters—Madison, Ashtyn, and Kennedy. The Sonsini family has called Greenfield home since 2023 and are proud members of the Greenfield-Central community.
